How Tough Is Silver Age Hulk…

In the Silver Age, it appears Hulk’s Strength-Level fluctuates. From the early Fantastic Four issues, #hulk takes on the FF and the Avengers. However, in Amazing Spider-Man Annual (1966) #3, Hulk struggles against Spider-Man. In fact, Spider-Man knocks out the Hulk with a punch!

As Bruce Banner explains, Hulk has a base strength that is around Spider-Man’s Metahuman-Level. As the transformation builds in rage, the monster attains full strength. But in this instance, we want to know how tough Hulk is.

In the issue, Spider-Man attempts to join the #avengers. His task is: Find the Hulk and bring him to the Avengers as a test. Soon, Spider-Man finds Mr. Fixit at a Gamma Ray Center in New York. A brawl follows and with Spidey’s speed and wit, he tricks Hulk into punching into a Gamma Ray shielding wall. With the explosion, Hulk reverts to Bruce Banner.

We did some calculations and found the HERMES III, the world’s most powerful gamma-ray generator. With 20 MegaVolts of electricity, it can dish out a City-Level Energy Projection. We think Silver Age Hulk is around City Block to Multi-City Block-Level in Durability.
